TikTok Series: Unlearning the Bible

The Bible is a major stumbling block to faith for many people. But there is another way to understand the Bible and its portrayal of God.

The God depicted in the Bible is confusing. At one point, God seems to command us to love our neighbors as ourselves, but at another time God seems to command genocide, or ever the desctruction of the earth.

How do we make sense of the different and contradicting understandings of God in the Bible?

This is not a new question. Christians throughout history have struggled with it. As it turns out, one of the things we need to do when answering that question is unlearn much of what we have been taught about the Bible.

In fact, if you read certain description of God in the Bible and you think, “God can’t be a violent monster like that” you are not alone. Your intuition is correct.

In this video series, Pastor Adam provides the tools that will help you unlearn many of the harmful teachings about the Bible so that you can discover a much deeper and more healing understanding of the Bible.

Because God is not a violent monster who demands genocide. God is the nonviolent love that pulses throughout the universe.
